Chapter 12
The movie started. My favorite movie--- Scream.
It felt cosy in the cinema, because we were the only people there.
Partly because scream was not a new movie. I felt cosy until Julia broke the atmosphere. She was still trying to tell me something. When she made a sound, I said “ Shhhh….. Here comes the good part.”
Just then Sophie made a phone call.
“Hi, its me…… Oh we are at the cinema with her friend Julia…… Yeah……. I know……. The movie just started…… Don't worry, everything is just fine, just like we have expected…… yeah…… I’ll keep an eye on them…… yes, where are you?...... Oh come an hour later…… Ok…… Just be outside …… listen, ill tell you when…… I’ll call you by that time…… No way, don’t worry, we can do this…… thanks, I will be careful……alright, I should be hanging now …… good, I’ll call you on the right time.”
Julia was angry. Because I didn’t want to listen what she is trying to tell me, I was busy watching my movie. She took out a piece of paper and a pen out of her school bag. She wrote on the note. She passed me the note.
It says:
Something serious is not going right. Tell sophie that we are going to the bathroom. And let’s get out of here, or at least we will go to the bathroom and I’ll tell you everything I need to tell you. But I want you to know that we are in real danger. Let’s Get out of here quick!
Before it’s too late!
“Ok…… bye.” Sophie finished her phone call.
Julia pushed me gently as a signal. I made a face.
“Mum, Julia and I are going to get some pop corns. We’re coming right back.” I said. I thought that was a better excuse.
Sophie nodded. “Be quick.” She added.
Julia and I bounced off the seats and walked out of the showing room. When we were out, Julia looked back.
“So, what?” I demanded.
“Do you want to know why I was acting weird those days?” Julia asked glumly.
“Yeah, of course I do. You and your mum had been acting so weird even since I got a stepmother.”
“Annie, I don't think we have much time to talk now, I’ll tell you wants going on. And I want you to listen, very carefully.”
I nodded. “Ok.”
“I’m very sad to say this but your mum didn't fly away to other places, unfortunately she died……” Julia began.
This was a great shock to me. But if so, why were Sophie and my dad saying she flew away? Oh, yes. Even Mary, Julia’s mum.
“She got murdered by David and Sophie.” Julia whispered. She looked around to see if there are anything going unusual.
And that was more of a shock to me! SOPHIE AND DAVID! I just couldn't believe it. Then I remembered the nightmare. How david stuck the blade of knife into Mommy.
I swallowed hard. Terrifying scenes coming back to sight.
“How did they kill her?” I asked leisurely.
“Well, your mum and my mum went to the movies. Some how, your dad know about this plan. Perhaps your Mum mentioned it to him. So after the movie, when everyone was gone, the plan of murder began. Sophie, and David run after them, trying to kill them. So they ran into one of the stuff rooms. David and Sophie ran tightly after. When they ran to the end. They found out that they were trapped. The knocked on the walled, they paniced. Suddenly the wall opened. They went in. It was a secret tunnel. They ran until the end of the tunnel. Sophie and david were far behind. And the end, there were two doors. The sign on the wall said that only one leads to an opening. The other one leads to nowhere. So they split up. Mary went in to the one on the left, and Cencila went in to the one on the right. My mum made the way out. But Cencila didn’t. And obviously Cencila got killed by those villains. This time Sophie and david are going to kill us, and mostly, you. You know the phone call she made, it was for david. He is coming in a hour. And the plan of murder will start then.” Julia finished talking.
I was too scared to say anything.
“Annie. We have two choices: one is to get out of this creepy place and call the police and the other is to come to my house and stay for the night. And we’ll will make more plans later.”
My lips seemed to be sewed together. I couldn’t speak.
“Quick!” Julia pinched me. “Make a decision, before David comes, Before its too late!”
“I thought you girls were getting some pop corns, what are you doing in the passage?” We heard a high-pitched voice
