　　大学用英语读做university，用作名词，指大学，综合性大学，高等学府，例如：John is one of his alumni in the university.约翰是他大学时的校友之一。

　　温馨提示：由地名、人名等专有名词构成的大学名称，一般都没有定冠词。而当university与of连用时，其前的the通常不可省略。
